Dr Eisen Liang is an interventional radiologist with special interest in gynaecological intervention, including uterine fibroid embolisation, uterine artery embolisation and ovarian vein embolisation. Dr Liang is passionate about using minimally invasive treatments to improve women’s quality of life and has helped hundreds of women suffering from heavy menstrual bleeding, period pain, and bladder and pressure symptoms.

Graduating with First Class Honours from UNSW in 1988, Dr Liang completed his internship and residency at Westmead Hospital. He began his radiology training in Hong Kong in 1990, and was appointed Lecturer in Radiology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in the Prince of Wales Hospital in 1994.

Dr Liang was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 1995 and the Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) in 1997. He performed his first uterine fibroid embolisation (UFE) in 1998.

Dr Eisen Liang has been an interventional radiologist at Sydney Adventist Hospital since 2004. When the Medicare rebate became available in Australia, he began performing  UFE/UAE to treat fibroids and adenomyosis in Sydney since 2007. For the last 19 years, he has safely performed over 2000 cases of UFE/UAE in Sydney, more than 700 cases were in the last 5 years. He has safely performed more than 400 cases of venous embolisation for pelvic congestion syndrome since 2014, more than 300 cases in the last 5 years.

He founded Sydney Fibroid Clinic in 2012 and Sydney Interventional Radiology in 2014.

He has clinical and research interests in gynaecological interventions such as embolisation for fibroids, adenomyosis and pelvic congestion syndrome. He works closely with gynaecologists, running joint clinics with a focus on uterine sparing treatment options for women with fibroids and adenomyosis.

His case series on UAE for fibroids and adenomyosis have been published in ANZJOG in 2012, 2018 and 2021.

In 2021, he published a book entitled: “Could It Be Adenomyosis? The bad cousin of Endometriosis: An Unsuspected Cause of Heavy Painful Periods”.

In 2024/2025, he published two papers on Pelvic Congestion Syndrome in JMIRO.

Dr Liang consults at St Leonards, Bella Vista, Wahroonga, and Westmead. He performs procedures at Sydney Adventist Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital and the Mater Hospital. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Dr Bevan Brown

Dr Bevan Brown is a well-known obstetrician and gynaecologist based in Sydney’s Hills district. Upholding a caring and compassionate approach, he offers individualised and empathetic treatment.

After graduating from Sydney University, Dr Brown trained at the Royal Hospital for Women. He then became Staff Specialist at Liverpool Hospital and co-joint Clinical Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of New South Wales. He completed his training at Liverpool Hospital, gaining experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery.

Dr Brown currently runs a busy private obstetrics and gynaecology practice, with special interest in hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery, treating pelvic pain, endometriosis, prolapse, fibroids and adenomyosis. He has co-authored many articles with Dr Eisen Liang in specialist and GP journals, on treatment of fibroids and adenomyosis.

He maintains a keen interest in the medical and surgical management of fibroids and adenomyosis – continuing research into fibroid and adenomyosis treatment options, while teaching students at the Sydney Adventist Medical School.
